Mission Carmel

A stone wall, a chimney, a red tile roof just visible above a well-kept hedge, bougainvillea going pink and purple on both sides, cactus pushing in from the left, the trees overhead doing their loose, dappled thing against a pale sky. It's a corner of the Mission grounds that most visitors walk past without stopping, which is their loss because it's one of the quieter, more genuinely pretty spots in Carmel.
