Description

The old city walls of Dubrovnik from across the water, a single sailboat in the harbor, the terracotta rooftops stacked up behind the ramparts, the whole thing sitting under a sky that has gone lavender and cloud-streaked in the best possible way. Agave plants in the foreground, the Adriatic doing its deep blue thing in between, and one of the most intact medieval cities in Europe just sitting there on the other side of it like it's perfectly normal. The watercolor palette is warm and vivid, rich blues in the water, warm whites and terracottas in the city, the purple sky pulling everything together into something that feels almost too good to be a real place, except that it is. The brushwork is confident and well paced, giving the architecture its proper presence without losing the looseness that makes the whole scene feel alive. The matte canvas finish keeps those saturated colors honest.
