The Wing Chong Building, the old cannery facades, the whole stretch looking exactly like itself under a sky full of good blue and drifting cloud. This is an oil painting and the light in it is handled beautifully, the long shadows cutting across the pavement, the buildings catching the midday sun in warm yellows and creams. It's a painting of a street that has seen a lot of history and is currently, on this particular afternoon, just being a pleasant place to walk.
