Description

There is a small blue structure sitting in the middle of all this sky and it is doing its job perfectly, giving the eye somewhere to land while everything around it moves. And everything around it does feel like it's moving, the trees restless and full, the clouds breaking up across a sky that shifts from deep cobalt to warm lavender to pale yellow all in the space of one canvas. This is Windy Hill on a day when the weather is putting on a show and the preserve is living up to its name. The watercolor treatment is looser here than a landscape like this might usually get, bold and a little wild, the brushwork matching the energy of the place rather than trying to tame it. The matte canvas finish keeps all those blues honest and grounded.
