Description

A small harbor at dusk, the stone quay running along the water's edge, a few boats tied up and done for the day, the trees above the wall gone soft and grey-green in the fading light, a house just visible through the canopy. The sky has turned that quiet blush pink that happens along this coast at the end of a clear day and everything below it has settled into the same mood. Divici at the close of an afternoon, unhurried and completely itself. The watercolor palette is muted and warm, dusty pinks and olive greens and the dark reflections of the trees in still water that barely moves. The brushwork is easy and unforced, painted the way a place looks when you know it well enough to stop trying to capture everything and just get the feeling right.
